The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) recommend 44 hours of professional lessons to pass a driving test, everyone learns at their own pace so this is only an average figure.
Your lessons can be one, one and a half or two hours long depending on your availability and your driving instructors.
Automatic vehicles are easier to learn in and if you have a disability or limited mobility they will probably be the best choice for you. However if you pass your driving test in an automatic vehicle your licence will only allow you to drive an automatic, if you pass your driving test in a manual vehicle you are legally allowed to drive manual and automatic.

“Julian is a brilliant & professional driving instructor who I highly recommend. Julian was always on time and no phones / do other private things during the lesson. Because of his previous teaching experience, he is very patient for all my stupid moments and always use different methods to make me understand how to drive. I'm lucky that had him as he is such a good driving instructor. Really super huge thanks for Julian and highly recommend him to others. ”
“Crystal is a great instructor! She was always friendly, patient and informative, always took the time to properly explain and go through mistakes to help correct habits that i'd picked up from past instructors and got me to a first time pass!”
“For anyone who is looking for driving instruction, I truly recommend Mr. Julian Barker. Julian is a very professional instructor and never late to the lesson. Always giving constructive feedback and I would say he not only helped me to pass the test but also teach me how to become a safer driver which could benefit me for my whole life. I am so glad to have Julian as my driving instructor and I would like to take this chance to thank you again for helping me to get through the driving test!”
“Joined up with Kev with 2-3 months left until my test, was nowhere near ready for it and he got me to pass first time. Absolute legend would 100% recommend, sound bloke and great teacher.”
